![]() In 1999 John left the practice of law, though he maintains his membership with the Alabama State Bar, to take a position as Vice President with Guilford Capital Corporation. John was a partner in the firm specializing in real estate, bankruptcy, and both general and business litigation. He practiced law with Balch & Bingham, LLP for ten years. He focuses primarily on sourcing federal and state historic rehabilitation tax credits for the various Foss Historic Funds or as one off placements to our corporate investors. John joined Foss & Company in June 2014 and became a shareholder in 2018. Barry has a Series 7, Series 63 and Series 22 securities registration. He is a frequent speaker on the structuring and financing of tax credit transactions at conferences across the country. Barry received a BA from the University of California at Berkeley and a JD from San Francisco Law School in 1983. Barry currently is the Manager of numerous federal and state tax credit syndicated investment funds. Barry represents a broad cross section of institutional investors from insurance companies, financial institutions, manufacturing and distribution companies and retail and service companies. ![]() ![]() Barry has been at Foss & Company since 1985 and has raised over $5 billion in federal and state tax credit equity for the development of affordable housing, the rehabilitation of historic structures, the development of coal based synthetic fuel production facilities and photovoltaic and thermal solar production facilities as well as a host of state tax credit programs. Barry has been active in the tax credit market as a broker and sponsor of tax credit syndications since the Tax Reform Act of 1986. ![]()
